Where Is Song Yiren Now? Career and Status Updates

Where is Song Yiren Now? The Current Status of the “Ever Night” Star

For fans of Chinese television and fantasy dramas, Song Yiren (also known as Ireine Song) became a household name following her breakout performance as the resilient and loyal Sang Sang in the massive hit historical fantasy series Ever Night (2018) and its sequel. Known for her petite stature, expressive acting style, and vibrant on-screen presence, she quickly carved out a steady niche in C-dramas, starring in youth romance and fantasy projects like The Best of You in My Mind and Professional Single.

However, looking at where the actress stands today, her career path has encountered significant shifts amid industry controversies and changing public profiles.

Career Challenges and Online Controversy

In late 2025, Song Yiren’s name unexpectedly surfaced in connection with online rumors and public discussions surrounding the tragic passing of fellow actor Yu Menglong in Beijing. The sudden speculation triggered an intense wave of online scrutiny and public backlash across Chinese social media platforms like Weibo and Douban.

• Denial of Involvement: Song’s legal representation quickly stepped in to address the rumors, issuing strict denials and asserting that the circulating media clips, audio, and claims linking her to the incident were entirely fabricated.
• Impact on Broadcasts and Projects: Despite legal denials, the rapid spread of online discourse heavily impacted her public profile. Several of her anticipated and ongoing broadcast schedules faced disruptions, with certain platforms pulling or postponing projects amid mass online reporting.

Recent Works and Future Outlook

While her presence in mainstream promotional loops has faced hurdles, her extensive filmography means several projects filmed prior to these developments have continued to roll out or remain in various stages of post-production.

• Recent Releases: Dramas featuring her or associated with her production timelines, such as The Moment I Met You and Love Formula, have populated her recent release lists.
• Keeping a Low Profile: Unlike her previous active engagement in promotional variety programs and continuous press cycles, Song has kept a considerably lower public and social media profile, focusing heavily on private matters and managing the legal fallout of the unwarranted rumors.

Ultimately, while Song Yiren remains a recognized face of modern Chinese television romance and fantasy, her current standing reflects the volatile and unforgiving nature of the modern entertainment ecosystem when stars are suddenly caught in the crosshairs of viral internet controversies.
